Michigan lawmakers pass restroom access bill

Michigan lawmakers passed a restroom access bill before Christmas that will benefit people with inflammatory bowel disease. Gov. Jennifer Granholm has indicated she will sign the bill requiring retail businesses that have employee-only bathrooms to open them to people with illnesses that require immediate access to a restroom. People who have Crohn's or other conditions will have to carry written proof from their physician and present it to the store.
