More students take active role in parent-teacher conferences

Students are now being invited to participate in parent-teacher conferences at an Illinois middle school -- part of an effort to make the meetings a more positive experience. Tefft Middle School is just one of many schools nationwide taking a new approach to the traditional conferences, and officials say that participation is up and students become more involved in the discussions about their academic progress.
