China to press ahead with pro-growth policies, Wen says

China is committed to continuing its economic stimulus, but the government will take steps to limit an increase in consumer prices and prevent speculation in the property sector, Premier Wen Jiabao said. He rejected foreign demands to allow the yuan to rise in value. He acknowledged that China's economy would have benefited "if our bank lending had been more balanced, better structured and not on such a large scale."
