Chinese law will increase use of renewables

A law approved over the weekend will increase the use of renewable-energy sources in China, the world's largest emitter of greenhouse gases. The law requires electricity-grid operators to prioritize wind and hydropower over coal, which accounts for 70% of the country's energy use. China has set a goal of increasing renewable energy use to 15% by 2020.
