Former flight instructor to develop GA safety procedures

A flight instructor who lost his eyesight in a plane crash 13 years ago has landed a job with the Federal Aviation Administration. Barry Hulon Hyde received a job offer on Dec. 3 for an aviation safety analyst position with the FAA. Hyde, who is also writing a book about his experience, will develop safety procedures for general aviation and flight schools.
