Leibowitz wants "even playing field" for industry, consumers

FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz, in his first nine months on the job, has tried to strike a balance between using government regulation to advocate for consumer privacy and other marketing issues and allowing industry to police itself. "There's times we use a bully pulpit and commend self-regulation and times where there is a real need to go after malefactors," Leibowitz said. "You want to make sure there is an even playing field."
