Spectra strikes pipeline-expansion deal with Chesapeake, others

Spectra Energy announced it forged agreements with Chesapeake Energy, Consolidated Edison and Statoil to expand two existing pipelines to improve delivery of natural gas in New York and New Jersey. The project, which is slated for a 2013 startup, could add 800 million cubic feet per day of natural gas to the region.
