Study suggests more ozone is created by ethanol fuel than gasoline

Researchers at Stanford University say that the E-85 fuel blend produces more ozone-creating pollutants than gasoline. Compared with gasoline, the E-85 "would increase ozone formation and urban air pollution," said Diana Ginnebaugh, a doctoral candidate in engineering.
