Union: Scottish government is wrong to cut back on teacher levels

Teachers in Scotland say a reduction in the country's teaching force by almost 2,500 has harmed education, and they are calling on officials to maintain staff levels at 53,000. A lack of job opportunities for new teachers has caused officials to reduce teacher-training opportunities, a move Scotland's largest teachers union called damaging and "short-sighted."
