Better weight seen in phentermine/topiramate-treated patients

Adding controlled release phentermine/topiramate to a lifestyle modification program helped induce significant and sustained weight loss in patients at 108 weeks compared with those who took a placebo, researchers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham found. The treatment was also associated with improved cardiovascular and metabolic variables and lower diabetes rates in patients, according to the study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
