S.C. educators seek improvements in special education

A group of educators in Charleston, S.C., is seeking an alternative high-school diploma, alternative assessments and other academic reforms for students with disabilities. The ideas were first discussed at two summits held by the district in the fall, as educators, parents and experts collaborated on strategies to improve special education.
