Boeing is in line for top spot, beating Airbus' 2012 sales, deliveries

Boeing will sell and deliver more planes than Airbus in 2012, beating its European rival on both measures for the first time in 10 years, this feature says. Boeing plans to deliver at least 585 commercial jets through Dec. 31 -- its second-highest jet-delivery total ever -- and there are 1,121 airplane sales on the books for the year, the second-highest airplane sales record ever for the company.
