Troops healthier than in previous generations, research indicates

U.S. troops are healthier today than they were in previous generations, suggests research published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Researchers compared autopsy results on troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan with autopsies of troops killed in Vietnam and Korea, and found significant decreases in the rate of atherosclerosis, a key measure of heart disease.
