Denmark proposes coexistence legislation

In the first bill on coexistence of genetically modified foods and organic and non-GM foods, Denmark's proposal will include isolation distances, cropping intervals and cleaning of machinery, all mandatory measures that are the responsibility of the GM farmer. For organic and non-GM farmers, a compensation facility will ensure they are compensated in the event they suffer an economic loss due to the growing of GM crops.
