High-stakes testing and the arts

Many educators contend that the fine arts should join the core curriculum and be subject to standardized testing. While art teachers and advocates believe such assessments could help them justify their budgets, testing subjective disciplines, such as dance and the visual arts, likely would be both challenging and expensive.
