Many Denver teachers waiting to sign up for new pay plan

With the first window for enrollment due to close Dec. 31, nearly 500 Denver teachers so far have registered for a new merit-pay plan. Employees opting for the ProComp System may select from among pay nine components, which include earning nearly $3,000 more a year for holding a master's degree and nearly $1,000 extra annually for agreeing to teach in a challenging school.
