Students learn while teacher hits rocky trail

Meriden, Conn., teacher Matthew Gross hiked the 2,174-mile Appalachian Trail as a personal feat, but because he blogged about his trip and it was tied into the curriculum at Edison Middle School, students learned math and geography skills along the way.
