Florida eases regulations on back-flow devices

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection backpedaled on plans to require homeowners to install $500 back-flow devices. Now, the state will give utilities the option to install less-expensive devices that cost $100. Back-flow devices prevent the mixing of treated irrigation water with public drinking water.
