IASB's credibility questioned after rule change

Amid a tense political atmosphere, the International Accounting Standards Board rewrote some of its rules in response to pressure from European politicians. "We were faced with this hole being blown in the European accounting, and we just wanted to step in and control it," explains Sir David Tweedie, chairman of the IASB. The episode has led some to question the credibility of the IASB.
