Sales of diet drinks flat at schools

Over the past 18 months, middle and high schools in and around Omaha, Neb., have removed regular soft drinks from vending machines, replacing them with diet drinks, water and sometimes juice or sports drinks. But the diet drinks aren't selling well, as students either stock up on regular soft drinks before class or turn to sports drinks and sugar-saturated coffees.
