Convenience stores could profit by speeding candy to shelves

With 2010 expected to herald a bumper crop of new candy products, convenience stores could increase their sales by speeding the process by which they get new items to the shelf. "It is incumbent upon the manufacturer and the wholesaler combined, to collaboratively work with the retailer on the timing, promoting and essentially the execution of new items into the convenience class of trade," said one category manager.
