Proposed Florida solar plant draws surge of bidder interest

The Orlando Utilities Commission's call for bids to build a solar energy plant attracted some 27 teams of bidders, reflecting surging interest in the relatively healthy solar arena. "A lot of people are trying to get into the market," said Jeff Burkett, president of Applied Solar Photonics, who submitted a bid. The winner will be chosen early next year.
