Retailers offer H1N1 flu shots to fuel sales, promote stores

Drugstore chains such as Walgreen Co., Rite Aid Corp., Safeway, Wal-Mart and CVS Caremark are banking on their in-store H1N1 vaccination programs to boost sales and promote the other health services they offer. With more people choosing to get the shots in their stores, retailers also are hoping to see an increase in the sales of hand sanitizers and other flu-prevention items.
