Study: 46% of U.S. households contain at least 1 HDTV

Nearly half of U.S. households -- 46% of them -- will have at least one high-definition television set before the close of this year, according to a study from the Leichtman Research Group. That's about double the penetration level of HDTVs just two years ago and, according to the study, the main reason for that increase is simple: The average price of HDTV sets has fallen dramatically since their introduction.
