Union: Ireland needs more teachers, not fewer

Ireland's teachers are criticising a recent decision to reduce the number of available places in a teacher-training programme for primary schools. Teachers say that the cuts will lead to larger class sizes based on projected increases in student enrolment. "This means that the government needs more, not fewer, teachers," an official with the Irish National Teachers' Organisation said.
