City Parks and Recreation staff lose weight, gain empathy

The Parks and Recreation staff in Lynnwood, Wash., lost 115 pounds during the city's 12-week fitness challenge, and recreation supervisor Brian Hendricks said they gained empathy for people who struggle with unhealthy habits. Hendricks, who finished short of his goal to lose 20 pounds, said he and his co-workers found it difficult to make time to exercise despite having fitness equipment in the workplace.
