100% literacy goal set for Pakistan province

Officials say they expect to meet the goal of 100% literacy in Punjab, Pakistan, by 2015 and have earmarked additional money for education to improve learning in the province. Education Department Secretary Nadeem Ashraf also said that in order to reduce the number of students dropping out of school, violence in schools -- including corporal punishment -- will have to end.
