Air New Zealand puts biofuel to the test

In the latest in a series of industry tests of alternative energy sources, Air New Zealand used a blend of traditional jet fuel and synthetic paraffinic kerosene made from the oil of the Jatropha shrub. "It was a very successful test flight, and Jatropha is a reliable second-generation biofuel going forward," the pilot said of the two-hour flight.
