Louisiana to audit New Orleans special education numbers

The varying rate at which New Orleans-area traditional and charter school students are receiving special education services troubles state officials, who plan a February audit of the numbers. While about 10% received such services before Hurricane Katrina, some schools are currently reporting just 1%, while others say nearly 17% need them.
