Physicians: U.S. must rethink elder care model

The U.S. needs to rethink the way it cares for seniors, experts say, because the number of geriatricians is decreasing as the ranks of the elderly are increasing. Physicians say new approaches are needed to keep the elderly as healthy and independent as possible, including better care coordination and getting family members involved in the care plan.
