Analyst: U.S. market for virtual goods could double in 2010

The market for virtual goods in the U.S. next year could reach an estimated $2 billion, a 100% jump over 2009 revenue, according to one analyst's projection. The U.S. has lagged behind Asia and other parts of the world in its adoption of virtual goods, but several big-ticket deals in the segment by major online players are likely to increase user interest.
