Banking industry seeks curbs on Fed proposals for gift cards

The Federal Reserve is working on new rules aimed at curbing some of the fees on gift cards, with the changes scheduled to take effect in August. The banking industry, however, is striving to narrow the types of fees that could be limited under the rules. For example, they want to maintain replacement fees for cards that have been lost.
