South Dakota community hospitals to receive IT grants

A sum of $244,376 in grants will be awarded to 16 rural health facilities in South Dakota to fund IT initiatives including electronic medical records and bar code systems. The grants will bring South Dakota's total funding under the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program to more than $3.37 million over the past nine years.
