Instagram is disputing a report that its active user base decreased by 4 million in the days after it changed its privacy policies. The report relied upon mobile-application data that examined only a subset of users. Although some observers say the service probably took a hit from the controversy, the company disputes that. "We continue to see strong and steady growth in both registered and active users of Instagram," a spokesman said.
