Aker krill-oil study sees average 10.2% reduction in triglyceride levels

Aker BioMarine Antarctic's Superba krill oil lowered triglyceride levels without changing LDL cholesterol levels in a study of 300 men and women with borderline high or high triglyceride levels, according to a company-sponsored study. Participants were divided into five groups, four of which received daily krill oil supplements of 0.5, 1, 2 or 4 grams. The krill-oil groups saw their triglyceride levels decrease by an average of 10.2% compared with the placebo group, according to the study published in Nutrition Research.
