Report: Recycling could provide 10,000 Indiana jobs

Updating Indiana laws to encourage recycling could lead to at least 10,000 new jobs in the state that sits at a seasonally adjusted 7.5% unemployment rate, according to a new study from the Bowen Center for Public Affairs. Carey Hamilton, executive director of the Indiana Recycling Coalition, writes that two-thirds of what is currently thrown away could be recovered, and major glass recyclers such as Strategic Materials "tell us they would expand if more in-state recycled materials were available."
