Taiwan exchange to sell up to 25% of itself to foreign bourses

Taiwan Stock Exchange Corp. is in discussions with Nasdaq Stock Market Inc., the NYSE, The CME Group Inc. and Deutsche Boerse as it plans to sell as much as 25% of itself. "Consolidation among exchanges has become an inevitable trend," said Charles Chen of JF Asset Management Co. in Taipei. "Such a move can help bourses add platforms or channels for trading. That will be a very positive story."
