Delta sells stock to cover stock options taxes

Delta Airlines has completed the sale of 18.2 million shares of common stock to cover the cost of withholding taxes assessed on stock options for employees. The company had agreed to give some 15% of its stock to employees following its Oct. 29 merger with Northwest Airlines Corp. The sale grossed $196 million.
