The pros and cons of Ruby on Rails

Ruby on Rails was used to build major websites such as Groupon and Twitter, and is a great pick for Web developers looking to add a new programming language to their toolkit, writes Claudio Ortolina. While the language can be problematic for sites very high traffic, most websites will never generate enough hits for that to be a realistic concern, Ortolina notes. "Ruby is extremely powerful and versatile, while maintaining a good balance of clarity and performance," he writes.
