Enterprise social: Hot trend or overblown technology?

The jury remains out on the value of enterprise social as many chief information officers cite it as an overblown technology with little obvious return on investment, while Microsoft hails it as a maturing tool for efficiency. "Some companies even note large improvement in morale when communication is open and widespread," said Susan Hauser, corporate vice president of Microsoft's Worldwide Enterprise and Partner Group.
