Regulators have until Jan. 17 to respond to Volcker rule concern

Federal regulators have been given until Jan. 17 to respond to a request from an industry group to reconsider Volcker rule restrictions on collateralized debt obligations backed by trust preferred securities. A group sued the Federal Reserve, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., saying the agencies showed "utter disregard" for the expense of the Volcker rule measure.
