Tablets, Chromebooks made headway among enterprises in 2013

Tablets accounted for more than a fifth of all commercial computing devices sold through November, with Windows, Android and Apple devices all recording significant growth this year, according to a report from NPD, which also found Google's Chromebook taking up a larger chunk of the enterprise notebook market. "New products like Chromebooks, and reimagined items like Windows tablets, are now supplementing the revitalization that iPads started in personal computing devices," said analyst Stephen Baker. "It is no accident that we are seeing the fruits of this change in the commercial markets as business and institutional buyers exploit the flexibility inherent in the new range of choices now open to them."
