Times Square Ball app adds social-network links

The Times Square Ball application, which allows users to watch the ball drop and interact with it, is expanding its reach and inviting users to share their New Year's Eve comments with links to Facebook and Twitter. "There's this television audience and there's this Web audience that's been growing every year," said Jeffrey Straus, executive producer of Times Square New Year's Eve.
