Associated General Contractors Builds Stronger Relationship with SmartBrief

New weekly e-brief supports the adoption of building information modeling

Washington, D.C., August 20, 2013 – As the leading association for the construction industry, the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) actively promotes “…the skill, integrity and responsibility of those who build America.” A key part of that promotion is effective communications, and as of August 20 the AGC has expanded its partnership with leading digital publisher SmartBrief to a second e-brief promoting BIMForum.

The AGC currently supports more than 28,000 member firms with the AGC SmartBrief – a daily snapshot of the construction industry with news from Bimtopia, Whole Building Design Guide and other leading sources. The new BIMForum SmartBrief is focused on facilitating and accelerating the adoption of building information modeling (BIM) in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry.

This weekly, ad-based brief will initially reach nearly 18,000 subscribers, providing exclusively tailored news and intelligence for professionals throughout the AEC industry, delivered straight to their inboxes. “The goal is provide the industry resource for all the information they need about the latest in Building Information Modeling,” said Dmitri Alferieff, the executive director of the BIMForum.

Founded in 1918, the AGC is a full-service national trade association with a nationwide network of chapters. The AGC represents more than 33,000 firms including 7,500 of America’s leading general contractors, nearly 12,500 specialty contractors and more than 13,000 service providers and suppliers. The AGC is the leading association for the construction industry. Regarded as the “voice and choice” of the construction industry, the AGC is one of the most visible organizations in the industry.
