State higher-ed funding cuts deepest in Okla.

Public colleges and universities in Oklahoma were subject to the deepest cuts in state spending in the nation: 17.8% between fiscal year 2012 and fiscal year 2017, according to an Illinois State University study. The states with the lowest funding cuts -- 1.8% -- were Arkansas and Kansas, and the majority of states increased or maintained spending.
