The Knapp Family Foundation awarded the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research a $1 million grant to explore biolectronic medicine for diabetes under a four-year research program. An implantable device that will work as an electronic pancreas will be developed by the institute to enable regulation of glucose metabolism without the need for insulin.
