Smith & Nephew generated approximately $2.34 billion in underlying revenue during the first half of the year, a 3% increase. The company, which has attributed the growth to a 13% revenue increase in emerging markets, has also "driven strong returns from disruptive innovations in areas such as knee implants and negative pressure wound therapy," said company CEO Olivier Bohuon.
