The FDA has given Edwards Lifesciences approval for the expanded use of its Sapien 3 Transcatheter Heart Valve, a device designed to be placed in the aortic and mitral valves in patients at risk for open-heart surgery. The approval allows the device to be used in valve-in-valve procedures.
