A round of Series C financing brought in $27 million for Natick, Mass.-based Allurion Technologies, which makes the Elipse Balloon for promoting weight loss in obese patients. The company will use the proceeds for a clinical trial that will be launched next year to support FDA approval of its inflatable device, as well as to improve manufacturing and expand non-US sales by rounding out its sales and marketing team.
