The Indian government on Tuesday informed Parliament that the mandatory inclusion of maximum retail price on packages of medical devices will become effective Jan. 1, 2018. The mandate followed amendments issued by the consumer affairs, food and public distribution ministry to the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011, according to Mansukh Mandaviya, minister of state for road transport and highways, shipping, and chemicals and fertilizers.
